1st day: Thuesday Ready for the fist trainings camp in 2008. After some problems in the end some Italian friends and I succeeded in coming to Portugal for a week of trainings. The program for the next week looks like this: Tomorrow and on Sunday we are going to take part in the 1st Internacional Trophy of Cantanhede. I'm especially looking forward to both competitions on Saturday. The middle distance WRE is going to be the first real competition since October. And of course it is always fun to do night competitions. Unfortunately i don't have that often the possibility to compete at night time. From Monday to Tuesday there will follow some days of intensive training on the nice maps around Mira. Will be a lot of fun. Until now the weather is fine, the temperatures are nice, and yesterday i got completely lost just two times in Porto (by car and without map). Hope it will be better the next days. |

Last Sunday I decided for an alternative training. Together with some friends we wanted to go up on Slovenia's highest mountain, the Triglav (2864m) by mountaineering ski. I personally think doing mountaineering skiing is a good training especially for basic endurance and strength. And it is a really nice addition to pure running in winter time, most of the times in out in some beautiful place. Like it was this time. Because of the almost 2000m of climb we had to start quite early. The first 1600m of climb was supposed to be nice quite gentle slopes with nice skiing. The last 350m of climb to the top are is a quite easy via ferrata, at least in summer time and good conditions. |

On Saturday I had my first kind of competition (or full speed O-training) for this year in Burgau near Fürstenfeld. The SO (south-east) cup is a series of small orienteering competitions in the southern part of Austria (and sometimes also in the neighbouring countries) in the winter and beginning spring. For me it is always a good possibility to do full speed training on prepared courses. More information on SO cup can be found on the OLCG Homepage. |

It has been a while since my last post here.I was really busy with work and hard training in the last months. But here I am again! With good news. After the release of the new Joomla 1.5 stable last week, I decided to upgrade also my page. With this release also the number of modules compatible with 1.5 will increase. So I hope to be able to bring new features to my page in near future. Stay tuned! |
