... i succeeded in running the traditional city race in Venice. No, it was not an important competition, but it has been a lot of fun. I could remember this from my races as a junior some (well, maybe more than 10) years ago. But it it is also a good start form my preparation for the next year. While i have been sick immediately after starting with hard training in the past 2 years, this time it feels quite OK and I'm looking forward to a hard winter training with hopefully no health problems.

... hopefully this year. After two years in a row i tried to compete in the traditional Venetian city orienteering without beeing able to start because of illness, i hope this year will be the good one. I'm travelling to Lonigo on Saturday for 1st and only stage of this years PWT and then going to Venice for my last competition in 2008.
Meanwhile the preparation for the next season has already begun. I'm really enjoying this period, with long and slow endurance trainings. Last weekend we did a nice mountain run and climbed three small peaks in the Seckauer Tauern.

Back home from our short (4 days) but intensive (more than 8 hours and 75 km of o-training and competitions with 2500m of climb) i'm back home now and try to analyze the situation. I have to admit i expected a little different terrain by just seeing the maps. It was a very useful opportunity to get the right ideas before starting with winter preparation.

Unfortunately we had some problems with the gallery component and therefore with pictures and maps. The problem has been solved now. |
